ABOUT US

Under the dual Royal Patronage of His Majesty King Charles III and the Presidential Patronage of His Excellency President Macron, the Entente Cordiale Day Association aims to embody the spirit of the Entente Cordiale struck in 1904 between the United Kingdom and France.

Every year, we bring together the greatest minds from the two nations’ top academic institutions to produce, discuss, and provide solution-focused research on today’s most pressing global issues.

The EC Day Challenge

A Franco-British academic competition in which participating students produce a solution-oriented written report in response to a new theme each year. The theme of the 2025–2026 edition is “Conflicts, Technologies and World Security.”

The EC Day Summit

Held annually on 7 and 8 April, the EC Day Summit convenes finalist teams to present their work before an international jury. The Summit marks the anniversary of the signing of the Entente Cordiale on 8 April 1904 and serves as the culmination of the programme. The proceedings include formal oral presentations, an awards ceremony, official dinners, a gala evening, and contributions from distinguished guest speakers.

The EC Day Alumni Reunion

The Alumni Reunion is held annually to ensure continuity within the Entente Cordiale Day community, bringing together past participants, institutional partners, and newly selected members. The 2024–2025 Alumni Meeting was convened in July at the Pierce Dining Room of the House of Lords.

The EC Day Talk Series

The Entente Cordiale Day Talk Series is a year-round academic conference initiative delivered in collaboration with leading institutions and student societies across the United Kingdom and France. Hosted across participating campuses, it facilitates academic exchange and dialogue, strengthening connections between students and experts.
